What Am I Reading To My Child?
There are many children's books out there and deciding on which ones to buy can give you a headache at best.
We were fortunate enough to receive many of our children's books from friends and family.
Here are a few books I recommend and why my son Brayden likes them!
Goodnight, I love you by Caroline Jayne Church. This is a great book to read before bed or more recently we've been reading it during the day. It talks about getting ready for bed, taking a bath, brushing your teeth, getting tucked in, etc. Brayden especially likes the page with the kid brushing his teeth.
First 100 words by Roger Priddy. In this book you will find classic situations such as putting on clothes, pictures depicting meal times, and also wardrobe pictures. Brayden often has us reading this book 10 times in a row because the pictures are very colorful and interesting!
Steam Train, Dream Train by Sherri Duskey Rinker. The train in this book is imaginative and the illustrations are rich in color. The book takes place in a train that is loading up cargo and its full of interesting animals and what they are doing with the trains supplies. The book ends with the train on the floor inside the child's room. This is a favorite of our sons at night time. He can't wait to turn the pages!
Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker. This book brings the construction trucks and the like alive. They all have personalities and talk about being tired from the long day's work. Brayden likes to turn the pages of this book as well, always excited to see what new truck is about to go to sleep. Another great book by Rinker, this can be bought in a set with Steam Train, Dream Train.
Have you read any of these books? What are your favorites to read to your children?
