Love is a beautiful thing
How deep the fathers love for us,
How vast beyond all measure.
-Stuart Tow end
I still remember dancing next to Daniel’s grandparents at our wedding in 2008. Such sweet tender memories. Such beauty to behold in our young love (I was 26) and they were in the late 80s. That would be one of the last times we saw his grandmother before her passing. And yet, I love this picture because we shared a treasured moment together of dancing and sharing our love and them sharing their love. Such beauty. Such tenderness.
I pray we are lucky enough to grow old together like Flo and Mac. I pray the Lord allows for many more years of love indwelling and shared overflowing to others.
I am so thankful we got to share some of their jewish traditions at the wedding like the challah bread and wine. It was special to them which meant it was special to me.
That day… so much laughter, dancing, and memories. I remember Daniel and I not wanting to leave the dance floor… loved ones didn’t want to either. What beautiful memories and reminders of love.
Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional.
